The Christian Institute shall be a seminary where students are equipped for the work of ministry, and for building up the Body of Christ; until all shall come to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, and to the measure of the full stature of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12-13)
We therefore aim to prepare students for a life of ministry and mission (whether as pastors, teachers, health workers, musicians, media personnel or any other leaders in the community), which will build up the Body of Christ spiritually, numerically, physically, intellectually and economically.
In doing this, we all seek to grow in faith, in discipleship, in maturity, and in that character and daily life-style which at all times and in all places imitates and follows that of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our vision and aim are wholistic, and not just intellectual. We are concerned with the students’ development and growth both inside and outside the classroom. The college is therefore purely residential, as we seek to help students to develop a life-style charactised by discipline, integrity and service. This applies to every day of the week and every hour of the day, and can only be achieved by the power of the Holy Spirit working in their lives. Personal and corporate prayer and Bible study are therefore the central hub from which all other activities and programmes flow.
